Billing Solution for Interconnect Operators
This solution is for those telecom service providers who need to
interconnect with an incumbent large or monopoly telecom operator.
Interconnect is sharing of the networks and voice traffic of
different operators by different operators. Interconnect billing
provides the facility of cost calculations for each operator who is
using shared network. Interconnect billing solution can provide
different ways of charging, settlements, reconciliation and dispute
resolution. It provides full billing features needed for
Origination, Termination and Transit traffic. Fully featured with
e-billing as well as printed billing facilities.

Please read the "Basics of Interconnect billing" white paper
for more details on what Interconnect is and what issues are
involved in its billing.

This is a carrier grade solution only for very high end
deployments.

It covers following business models:
  • LL and WLL (Local Loop and Wireless Local Loop):

  • A local loop operator provides local phone numbers to subscribers either on a wired or wireless network. This operator then interconnects with other carriers mostly the incumbent large operators or monopoly national telecoms (Telcos) and delivers and receives voice traffic. Any calls originated in this operator's network are delivered to the Telco for further delivery and any calls originated elsewhere that need to be delivered to a number in this operator's area and received for delivery. Billing settlements are done at the end of the accounting period usually a week or a month while basic reconciliation of accounts with the large Telco is usually done at the end of each day.

  • LDI (Long Distance International):

  • An LDI company is a network operator who on one end interconnects with the existing incumbent national monopoly telecom (Telco) and on the other end interconnects with other national and international operators to originate and terminate voice traffic. Any traffic originated on the LDI network is delivered to other operators including the national Telco or large international terminators for further delivery. Any traffic originated on the national Telco or other local loop operators' networks can be delivered to the LDI operator for further delivery. Billing is again usually post paid and mutual accounts among operators are settled at the end of accounting period usually a week or month. But basic reconciliation is done usually at the end of each day.
For more details about the LL and LDI business models please read the "Basics of local loop" and "Basics of long distance international" white papers.
