    Advanced Callback Manager

Advanced CallBack Manager is specially designed to enable service providers to offer various Callback services. This is a complete softswitch based Billing and Call Back Solution which integrates ANI/PIN/Web/SMS Call back services with Subscriber Management, Billing, Rating and a Reporting Platform.

What is CallBack?

'CallBack' feature or service provides a system for avoiding regular phone company's long-distance charges by having a call initiated from within the country (e.g. USA) with the originating caller joining in a conference call. Users of this feature can call anywhere in the world by requesting a callback and dialing the desired number upon getting a call back.

With Advanced CallBack Manager, you can offer any or all of following different CallBack services:

  1. ANI based CallBack
  2. PIN based CallBack
  3. Web based CallBack
  4. SMS based CallBack

ANI based CallBack service

This type of service allows users to make long-distance calls by calling on an access number. User has to dial the given access number. 'Advanced CallBack Manager' in this case disconnects the call automatically and calls back to user if he/she is an authorized user, and asks for dialing destination number. The billing system (AVB) verifies account information and authorizes the call if the user has enough balance. Upon call completion, AVB records complete CDR information for the call and charges the user account with accumulated service charges.

PIN based CallBack service

In PIN callback scenario, user subscribes to a callback service and obtains service number and PIN code. Unlike ANI callback, where caller is not called back if authentication fails, PIN callback gives the opportunity for a caller to be authenticated not by ANI/calling number but by PIN code. Once user is authenticated by providing PIN then IVR prompts the user to enter the destination number. AVB verifies destination number and authorizes the call if the user has sufficient balance.

Web based CallBack service

By using Web Callback service a user can make long-distance calls through service provider's website. The website is configured with 'Advanced Callback Manager' using web service. Once the callback server receives the request, it initiates a callback to the user's phone number and to the destination number specified by the user. When the user answers, the callback server automatically dials the destination number and connects both call legs.

SMS based Callback service

The SMS Callback Service allows mobile phone users to make long-distance calls by sending SMS (Short Message Service) message to GSM Modem/Gateway. This SMS message typically contains the destination number that user wish to call. Once the CallBack server receives the message, it initiates a callback to the user's mobile phone or to any other number specified by the user. Once the user answers, the callback server automatically dials the destination number and connects both calls together.

How to start a CallBack service?

Following are the important components to launch a CalkBack service:

  1. AVB - Advanced Call Back Manager
It includes complete softswitch with real-time billing and customer care platform for Billing, subscribers management and CallBack module.
  2. Linux Server for (AVB) Installation.
  3. VoIP Gateway that supports RADIUS/AAA (Cisco, Quintum, etc.). This will function as an interface between the originated call from the PSTN (caller’s phone) and the IP network (Internet).
  4. High speed Internet access
  5. Arrangements with VoIP Carrier(s) for Call Termination Services
