Data Collection
| |
Advanced Mediation Server gathers usage data from all types of network elements without any limitation. It is capable enough to support large number of network elements simultaneously. Mediation Server employs following methodologies to perform data collection.
- Scheduling
Advanced Mediation Server facilitates with both time and event based scheduling. It is a central point that monitors users’ requests and audit trails for each event. Mediation Server supports three types of scheduling. Periodic, File Close and External Request.
Periodic Scheduling: It offers periodic scheduling on weekly, daily and timely basis.
File Close Scheduling: It allows number of files/bytes based scheduling.
External Request: It also provides scheduling on external request basis.
- Manual Trigger
Advanced Mediation Server is smart enough to accept manually transferred CDRs to the server. The entire process can be automated to fetch the data files from various storage media (Magnetic Tape, Optical Disk, USB Storage etc.).

Post Collection Processing |
| |
Advanced Mediation Server not only receives and distributes CDRs but also provides highly efficient post-collection processing of data files through distributors. It allows modifications on the usage data before transmitting it further to end applications. It ensures availability of multiple distributors within the system. |
| |
| |
No data loss |
| |
It validates sequence numbers of received CDRs to ensure accuracy and avoid data loss. In case of records’ misplacement, it allows you to identify the missing one before further processing.
Prior to the sequence numbers assigned to CDRs by NEs (Network Elements), Advanced Mediation also inserts a unique ID to each CDR that can be required by Monitoring System for further processing |
| |
| |
No unwanted CDRs |
| |
It validates CDRs on the basis of user defined criteria and eliminates unwanted CDRs as per your choice. It also provides support for logical or business-rules validations. |
| |
| |
Flexible Distribution |
| |
Advanced Mediation Server is highly flexible in terms of files distribution. It can transfer multiple streams of CDR files to another mediation system as well as monitoring systems and post processing systems. Prior to that, it also allows creating a new file or modifying the existing ones depending on the format supported by the monitoring system.
It transmits data directly either through FTP (File Transfer Protocol) or record data on tape(s) and send them to the destinations such as Billing Systems, Lawful Intercept, Fraud Detection, Service Assurance, Marketing Analysis etc. |
| |
| |
Time Delay Detection |
| |
It ensures acceptable time difference between CDRs collection and also permits to verify the minimum and maximum gaps between two CDRs. |
| |
| |
Efficient Monitoring |
| |
Advanced Mediation Server offers highly efficient monitoring system that allows users to view active jobs and take appropriate action |
| |
| |
CDRs Assignment |
| |
Mediation Server offers a powerful functionality for assigning CDRs. It allows changing order of the CDRs, removing fields from CDRs as per your requirement(s), adding new fields, assigning values to different fields and modifying the existing records. |
| |
| |
Parallel Processing |
| |
To improve throughput of CDR, it allows configuring more than one mediation node for different pool of input files. In case of over loading at one stream, it is capable of shifting control to other configured streams |
| |
| |
Security Management |
| |
Advanced Mediation Server supports security profile(s) configuration. Roles and responsibilities in the profiles can be created and modified according to the requirement(s). It maintains complete records for audit messages for high-quality management |
